Near the end of 2005 we started a search for a suitable mate for Loki. Having ruled out using a stud from Finland we concentrated on her blood lines to find the best stud to complement her. Having definite requirements in mind for the lines of the potential stud, we watched the opposition’s dogs closely for conformation, attitude and results in harness. Loki is very well regarded by many of the top mushers in Scotland and receives glowing praise from all who have ran her.

After very careful deliberation; her mating to ‘Laikas Solo’ was completed in March 2006 with single minded determination to increase the kennel’s capabilities and to secure our future success. To this end we kept 5 pups from the litter of 7. We now have a kennel of 10 Siberians, including 9 of the very best, young, working Huskies in the U K.

The future is extremely bright and positive not to mention very exciting for all at Snopheonix. We potentially have the perfect balance between proven Championship winning experience and the youthful exuberance of the ‘up and coming’ racing team. Our oldest dog, Loki; is only 5 years old so the best is yet to come from Snopheonix Siberian Huskies.

My Dug Habit !

My clothes are untidy; I’m cold, wet and stressed.
4 more to go; before I can rest.
If we meet in the street, can’t stop to talk.
These things have no brakes; I’m off for a walk.
It’s my dug habit!


No smart clothes or labels, only gortex and fleece.
Just clothes that repel dirt and promise ‘non crease’.
My chores are relentless, that’s why I’m so crabbit.
But it’s all done through choice.
It’s my dug habit!


At the weekends and evenings you’ll find me alone.
In the bleak rainy forests; not comfy at home.
I’m ice-cold and soaking but you’ll not hear me moan.
Coz I’m praying for blizzards whilst dreaming of Nome.
It’s my dug habit!


I used to have friends and a 5-door saloon.
Now I drive a ‘white’ van and howl at the moon.
I’ve traded normality for a life full of fun.
With furry companions who’s desire is to run.
It’s my dug habit!
